The Youth Alliance for Rural Development in Liberia (YARD-Liberia) is a local civil society organization registered with the Government of Liberia. YARD-Liberia works with youths in Margibi County, Nimba, and Montserrado. The organization is very worried about the non-positive contribution of youth to strengthening the fragile social-economic system the country is struggling to maintain.
Our organization employs many unique approaches to decode opportunities for young people to stay in their communities and develop themselves. We use the method of educational outreach, which includes reaching out to schools, enlightening students about the importance of education, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) symposium. We also create the opportunity for them to have basic computer skills. We also use health outreach by informing community dwellers about sicknesses and their preventive methods. We distribute brochures and fliers with health articles written on them.
The organization also empowers youth through a program called community outreach by organizing youth gathering activities such as; leadership workshops, youth discussions, and peace activities. At these gatherings, we invite government officials, stakeholders, and other community actors so that young people can use this platform to dialogue with them while expressing their community’s needs.
"Education is the foundation of opportunity and progress. At YARD-LIBERIA , we believe that every youth deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background. By investing in our youth, we can build a brighter and more prosperous future for all."
Our Youth Development and Entrepreneurship program empowers young people to become successful entrepreneurs and leaders. Through training and mentorship, we equip them with the skills and resources they need to create jobs."
Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are essential to driving innovation and progress in today's world. At YARD-LIBERIA, we are committed to promoting STEM education and inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and leaders.
Information technology is rapidly transforming the way we live, work, and communicate. At YARD-LIBERIA, we believe that everyone should have access to the benefits of technology. Our Information Technology program provides communities with the resources.
