Youth Action for Rural Development in Liberia(YARD-Liberia) on Saturday, January 26,2019, released its activities and performance report to the people of Liberia.
The report, according to the group ‘s Executive Director, Foeday Zinnah covers activities observed by the Organization for the year 2018.
Mr. Zinnah named Youth Leadership workshop, International Day of Drug Abuse and Illicit Human trafficking, International Youth Day, International Day of Peace and United Nations day with focus awareness on SDGs as programs covered by the group.
He said programs implemented by the Organization were organized and planned by members of YARD Liberia in line with the 2018 plan of actions.
The group’s Executive Director further explained that programs designed by the Organization under the year in 2018 have impacted the lives of young people from various Communities in Margibi and was certificated by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) under the program, YALIServe.
We remain committed in our promotion of young people against all forms of social vices through advocacies and empowerment programs, Foeday said.
Giving the historicity of YARD Liberia, the group’s Secretary-general, Dennis Kromah said the Organization was founded in June 2017 in Harbel City, Margibi County in solving some of the problems young people from rural areas in Liberia are faced with.
He said young people in rural Liberia have been neglected and those with potential in representing their communities have been forced to migrate in urban areas in pursue of higher education.
Youth Action for Rural Development in Liberia is an Organization designed to create a self sustaining generation of young people through education in Liberia.Â
